
The photo above, was an eBlast sent to my personal email account. Unlike spam, eBlasts are emailed ads that customers have chosen to receive. I opt-out from eBlasts when they provide more annoyance than value.
The best eBlasts are not just advertisements — they provide value. The value might be my weekly discount coupon from a bookstore, my Mother’s Day reminder from a florist, a news letter announcing new courses on Lynda.com (news I want to know), or even a really great graphic design or image. It’s this value that keeps an eBlast from becoming spam.
