Electronic Paper Progresses.

Was at McDonald's in San Diego's Fashion Valley Mall this morning. Planned to order a yummy McSkillet Burrito but missed the cut-off time for breakfast orders, so got a lunch menu chicken sandwich instead.
Anyway... a guy from Ronald McDonald's House was emptying the donation boxes... as he put the empty boxes back on the counter, my eye was caught by an animated, full color, e-paperish screen on each box. (EXTRA NOTE: Upon closer look, the display is full color, but the actual e-paper is just black and white.)
Chatted with the charity guy. He said the displays were battery operated and seemed to have a computer port for updating the images.

Thin, black and white e-paper might be available in 2009.
Full-color, letter size e-paper, is on it's way also.
Designers might soon create for (and with) this new medium.
Some national and world newspapers are already
available on e-readers like Amazon's Kindle.
